Scott Silver has spent his entire legal career practicing securities and financial services law. While attending the University of Miami School of Law, Mr. Silver successfully completed a CLI Program with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Mr. Silver subsequently joined a Wall Street law firm specializing in the defense of brokerage firms in FINRA, SEC, NYSE, and court matters. Mr. Silver regularly represented clients before the NASD and in state and federal courts on various financial matters.

In 2001, Mr. Silver relocated to Florida joining The Law Offices of Darren C. Blum, P.A. bringing his unique knowledge of the inner workings of Wall Street to a leading Plaintiff's firm. In 2004, the firm of Blum & Silver, LLP was formed whereby Mr. Blum and Mr. Silver combined forces. Mr. Silver switched "hats" and began primarily representing individual investors, institutions and companies in claims against brokerage firms, investment advisors, commodities firms, hedge funds and others. Mr. Silver maintains strong ties to New York and regularly represents investors in and around New York through the firm's New York office.

Mr. Silver has represented investors in a wide variety of matters including claims for:

  • Penny-stock fraud
  • Commodities fraud
  • Fraudulent bond transactions including high-yield bonds, CMO's and Inverse Floaters
  • Suitability
  • Private placements
  • International Fraud
Mr. Silver frequently contributes to various publications and he has authored or co-authored numerous articles relating to investors and the arbitration process. Mr. Silver is an active member of PIABA (Public Investor Arbitration Bar Association) and co-hosted Stockattorneys Live, a weekly talk show educating the investing public. In 2009, Mr. Silver was honored by Superlawyers Magazine being named as a rising star in securities litigation. In 2009, Mr. Silver was awarded South Florida's most effective lawyer in securities litigation.

Mr. Silver is admitted to practice law in Florida and New York and many federal courts including the Southern and Eastern District of New York and Southern District of Florida. Mr. Silver has represented clients throughout the United States as well as Israel, Egypt, Ireland, Puerto Rico, Mexico, England and elsewhere.

Mr.Silver has been awarded an AV rating by the Martin-Hubbell Law Directory, the highest rating for competence and ethics issued by that publication, and reserved for attorneys designated as outstanding in their field.
